How to Get Ready for the End of the Times.

End of times

Let’s start by saying that the end of time is not the end of the world. We are referring rather to the end of the time of the Gentiles or the end of the time of the nations, which began with the ascension of Jesus Christ to heaven.

The parable of the fig tree

Some theologians and priests tell us that the end of time began from that moment. Others tell us that the end of times, or at least the end part of these last times, began in 1948 when the state of Israel was founded.

The latter is based on the interpretation of the parable of the fig tree told by Jesus found in Matthew chapter 24: 29-44.

29 And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be moved:

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all tribes of the earth mourn: and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with much power and majesty.

31 And he shall send his angels with a trumpet, and a great voice: and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the farthest parts of the heavens to the utmost bounds of them.

32 And from the fig tree learn a parable: When the branch thereof is now tender, and the leaves come forth, you know that summer is nigh.

33 So you also, when you shall see all these things, know ye that it is nigh, even at the doors.

34 Amen I say to you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.

35 Heaven and earth shall pass, but my words shall not pass.

36 But of that day and hour no one knoweth, not the angels of heaven, but the Father alone.

37 And as in the days of Noe, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, even till that day in which Noe entered into the ark,

39 And they knew not till the flood came, and took them all away; so also shall the coming of the Son of man be.

40 Then two shall be in the field: one shall be taken, and one shall be left.

41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill: one shall be taken, and one shall be left.

42 Watch ye therefore, because ye know not what hour your Lord will come.

43 But know this ye, that if the goodman of the house knew at what hour the thief would come, he would certainly watch, and would not suffer his house to be broken open.

44 Wherefore be you also ready, because at what hour you know not the Son of man will come.

In the parable of the fig tree, it is understood that Israel is the fig tree, and the branches began to sprout in 1948 when the state of Israel was founded. The other branch sprouted in 1967 when they recovered Jerusalem.

A generation in the Jewish context, consists of 70 to 80 years.

10 The days of our years in them are threescore and ten years. But if in the strong they be fourscore years: and what is more of them is labour and sorrow. For mildness is come upon us: and we shall be corrected.

Psalm 89:10 (DRA)

If we do the math, we are already on the final stretch. Let us remember that it is not the end of the world, but a change of epoch as when we changed from the Old Testament to the New Testament.

Jesus tells us that when we see these things (the signs of the times) we will know that the time, or the end is near. This means that we have to be aware of the signs of the times. If we pay attention,  they are very evident to us. However, it also says that we will do not know the day or the hour.

How to be prepared.

From all this, I believe the following is very important in order to be prepared:

1.- Know the scriptures and our faith firmly and as we should.  Because things are going to get very confusing.

2.- Know what the signs of the times are, because  we should know where we are standing.

3.- Know as much as we can about the different messages of the Virgin Mary when she has shown up and delivered them.  Since it is Mary who has come to give us many warnings that coincide with the scriptures regarding the last times. (I am speaking of Fatima, Akita, and Garabandal)

4.- All the knowledge in the world is useless if we are not spiritually prepared. Of all the things on this list, the most important is this. How to prepare spiritually?

With mass every Sunday at the very least,  daily mass if possible. Confession and communion often. Adoration to the holy eucharist every week if possible, and the very important daily prayer of the rosary.  Constant prayer. Also, do not forget the importance of fasting.

Although we see the signs of the times so close and in our faces, we still don’t know the day or the time. We have to be in grace and always prepared at all times, so that it does not surprise us as the scripture says.

Who knows maybe we will be lucky and God will preserve us and protect us. But also, He may ask us and/or our family to be martyrs and give testimony of our faith. We also have to be prepared for that.

We do know, that for some, the end of the times may be the day they pass away. Therefore, the importance of always being spiritually prepared is paramount.

That doesn’t mean you are not prepared for emergencies like hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, diseases, or other material emergencies. We are soul and body.

I keep myself informed by studying these subjects both with the scriptures and listening to experts on the subject because it is not easy to understand. We should not have our own interpretation of the Bible, based on our independent understanding.

We should take into account Church history and authoritative sources from the Church.

It is easier if we obtain information from people who truly know. Remember we are not called to know the exact day or time, but to recognize the signs and to be prepared. So if someone gives you an exact date, you know that this is a scam.
